Gita Brown

Grounded. Easeful. Growth.

Close up photograph of a vibrant green leaf on the forest floor. Taken by Gita in Yogaville, Virginia. These three words characterize my philosophy and teaching style. My goal is always the same: help each student realize their true potential through a shared experience of a focused practice with a joyful attitude.

I initially came to study yoga as a means to improve my performance as a classical musician, and deepened my practice during a period of intense personal challenges. The health and calm I experienced led to a desire to share these teachings with others.

Miss Gita is so good with my children; we love her as our teacher! My son has Attention Deficit Disorder, and I've noticed a remarkable change in him after his yoga class. He has a calmer demeanor, sleeps better, and has better coping skills.

I have been blessed to study with inspiring yogis across the country, and have witnessed the transformative power of yoga each time I share knowledge and techniques with my students. I teach a wide range of students, as I believe yoga offers benefit to anyone with a desire to learn. I am certified in Integral Yoga and Yoga for the Special Child.

I offer private sessions through my home studio in west Plymouth, as well as group classes through Scituate Recreation Department and Scituate Public Schools.

In addition, I also offer Music Therapy and Music Education services through the South Shore Conservatory in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
