Om Shanthi Chant

Ever wanted to chant but didn't know where to start? Join me as I teach you this simple and beautiful chant for peace, Om Shanthi.

Hari Om Mantra

Learn the basics of the Hari Om chant from the perspective of Integral Yoga. You'll learn how it effects your brain and breathing. And of course we'll chant together! It's one of my favs and my students love it, too! Chant every day and experience the good vibes for yourself!

Hari Om Chant-slow version for practice

Chanting feels good! Chanting drops us right into the present moment, helps regulate our breathing, and activates and coordinates all the areas of the brain. This is a slow and peaceful version of the Hari Om chant to help anyone learn the chant at a slower pace.

Here's a version where I explain a bit more of the science and anatomy of chanting, as well as the chant at full speed: http://bit.ly/hariomchant

Much gratitude to my teachers in the Integral Yoga tradition and Yoga for the Special Child lineage for teaching me this chant.

Mantras like these create vibration in the body that help us elevate our conciousness. The "meaning" of the mantra is the vibration itself; when chanting just notice how it feels and *boom* there's the meaning. Mantras go beyond representational language, beyond the simplicity of our cognition, they connect us to the foundational reality that we are all individual expressions of the great vibration of the universe. Our energy was drooping last fall during filming online yoga classes; so after lunch I decided to call an audible and blast out Om Namah Shivaaya to uplift our spirits. It worked! Don't take my word. Just chant and see what happens! And know that whatever happens is the perfect thing! Om Namah Shivaaya! I honor the light within me and you! *originally recorded Fall 2019 All gratitude to my teachers in Integral Yoga (Swami Asokananada, Satya Greenestone, Swami Arivaananda) and Yoga for the Special Child (Sonia & Renata Sumar) for training me in these wonderful chants
